ROOT CANAL (Endodontic) TREATMENT

Inside each tooth is the pulp which provides nutrients and nerves to the tooth, it runs a thread down through the root. When the pulp is diseased or injured, the pulp tissue dies. If you don't remove it, your tooth gets infected and you could lose it. You need a dentist trained in endodontics – the branch of dentistry dealing with the root and pulp of teeth.

The Endodontic Procedures

After the dentist removes the pulp in endodontic treatment, the root canal is cleaned and sealed off to protect it. The dentist places a dental crown over the tooth to help make it stronger.

Most of the time, a root canal is a relatively simple procedure with little or no discomfort involving one to three visits. Best of all, it can save your tooth and your smile!

If you’re feeling tooth pain, you may need endodontic treatment. Please give us a call at our Global Dental Clinic. A root canal can help alleviate the pain and save the tooth.

Benefits of Endodontic Treatment

- Removal of bacterial infection from tooth
- Removal of pain
- Prevention of further spread of infection throughout tooth, to periapical tissue and surrounding bone

The primary goal of endodontic treatment is to create an environment within the root canal system which allows for healing and continued maintenance of the health of periradicular tissue. A successful procedure is one which has removed bacteria in the tooth and completely filled the canals.
